Does Late Menstruation After Getting Paragard Removed Indicate Pregnancy?
Negative tests - PMS, plan for healthy pregnancy, take preconception care.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, Dr Purushottam Neurgaonkar here. I welcome you to HCM VIRTUAL CLINIC. I have gone through your question, and I think I have understood your concern . I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.
As your doctor has rightly said that you are off contraceptive protection now. You can get pregnant if you want so.
In a woman with regular cycles, day 10 to 20 of the cycle is the most fertile period of cycle. I will suggest you to have sex at least on alternate days during this period.
Now if you have missed your periods and your pregnancy test is negative, then blood beta HCG test and USG will be of help to confirm the pregnancy.
If all reports suggest that you are not pregnant then it can be just a delayed periods or PMS - Premenstrual syndrome. Ln that case, I will suggest you to take Vitamin E , PRIMOSA and B LONG F each one daily for 3 months.
I will suggest to indulge in a healthy diet and regular exercise regimen.
Have plenty of fruits and vegetables and salad in diet.
Avoid deep fried foods, bakery products and refined sugars.
Avoid substance abuse if any. I will suggest you to add Folic acid and Vitamin B-12 at least three months before you plan to get pregnant.
I hope this answer helps you. Thanks.
I wish you a great health.
Regards
Dr Purushottam Neurgaonkar.
I have read online it's best to take a at home pregnancy test a week after a late period. True?
Also, I have never been late. Even after the first time I had my paragard taken out (to conceive my first baby) I wasn't late and got pregnant a month later.
I have certain signs I'm pregnant. Eating a lot more. Headaches. Cramps on and off. Tiredness. Exhaustion. After certain activties. So I'm just confused on why tests are saying negative.
wait and repeat the urine test, induce periods if negative.
Detailed Answer:
Hi. Dr Purushottam Neurgaonkar here.
Please do not panic or worry about the periods. You can simply wait for a week more and repeat the urine pregnancy test, if your periods do not start. The tests are quite reliable.
With a positive test result the dilemma will get over. But in case of a negative result, you can simply wait for the onset of periods, or induce the periods with Tab Regestrone if you wish so. But you will need the prescription for the same. Thus kind of delay in periods is not uncommon, so you need not worry.
I hope this answer helps you. In case of any doubt, please revert back to me.
Thanks. With regards.
Wish you a great health.
