Does Low Progesterone Levels Indicate Pregnancy?

Question: OBGyn
I am 14 Days past ovulation
I ovulated on Cycle Day 9.
On cycle day 18, my doctor took bloodstock for Progesterone which came back as a 9. He said that was "low".
My period is due tomorrow. I have symptoms of PMS.
Is IMPOSSIBLE to be pregnant right now?
I am 40 years old and TTC.
EGG quality test said the are equivalent to 28 years old.

Brief Answer:
Chances of pregnancy in this cycle are very low.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The progesterone levels are low and are not suggestive of pregnancy. If you are having PMS then chances are that your periods will start in next few days.
If your egg quality is good and at your age it is best to opt for in vitro fertilisation. This will increase your chances of an early conception and you can have a healthy baby at your age.
