Does My Baby Carry My Abnormal Cells From Hpv ?

default
Posted on Fri, 21 Jun 2024
Question: I had abnormal cells from hpv 17 years ago. My paps for the past 12-15 years have been clear. I’ve been going about every two years. I recently gave birth and am worried they could have abnormal cells again. Is that likely given that my paps have been clear so long?

Brief Answer:
No need to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns about abnormal Pap smear and past history of HPV.
It is reassuring to know your Pap smear has been normal for past few years. Recent child birth does not increase the chance of sudden abnormalities or re activation of HPV infection. There is no need to worry about it.

So if my pap was clear a year before giving birth is it likely it was still clear while pregnant?

Brief Answer:
Normal Pap smear

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

If your Pap smear was good one year before birth, I am absolutely sure it won’t change so soon. You can be assured of your Pap smear being normal
Even now or during pregnancy. Don’t worry about it.

Hi, I’ve been having a lot of ruminating thoughts on Stis post partum. My testing for stis came back all negative but is it possible that I had an infection in the past years ago but my body cleared it?
