At 180 days antibody test by immunochromotography is non reactive. Again I did test result is antibody 0.00 and antigen 0.02 test done by XXXXXXX Vidas method at 6.5 months. (Limit is 0.25). My Hep B result is 0.01 by XXXXXXX vidas method at 196 days(Limit is 0.13). Kindly help where both the result is conclusive or need for another testing. Pls. also help to understand the test results.

Brief Answer:

No further testing is needed.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

You had the needle exposure but the HIV test result after 6 months is non-reactive along with Hep B test result so you need not worry at all because these results are definitely conclusive and accurate.

You are 100% safe and risk-free from HIV so no further test is needed.

As far as the test result is concerned any value below one for HIV is considered as negative so the value has not of much significance.

Be relaxed, forget about the episode and live your life normally. For any further query feel free to ask me again and I am here to help you out always.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Dear doctor
Thank you for your reply. At present I am suffering little bit of pain in my lymph nodes area collar bone. I have noticed red rashes in my legs which has cleared by 3 days. I have experienced all the symptoms of Hiv from the same day of needle exposure. I also developed little bit of gas problems. Today is 7 months from exposure.
My question to you Sir.

1. Where my Hep B result is 0.01 at 102 days and also 196 days there is no change but my Hiv result changed completely. That is antibody is 0.06 at 102 days and 0.00 at 196 days whereas antigen not detected at 102 days and 0.02 at 196 days.(limit is 0.25). Where I am zero converting late because I have heard antigen images virus. Also I have heard Hiv virus can lay dormant upto 2 years. Looking at the results do you think it is lying dormant in me.
2. Hep B 0.01(Limit 0.13)means what?,kindly explain. Whether there is a chance to go up the figure.
Whether you think I am infected with both Hiv and Hep B. I have done AEC also it is 186.
3.How reliable the test is done by XXXXXXX Vidas.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:

You are free from HIV and Hepatitis B.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

The window period for HIV infection varies from 15 days to 3 months so the test result after 6 months is definitely conclusive and the virus will not remain dormant for 2 years.

The test value has not much significance in both the cases HIV or Hep B so don't think much about it.

AEC count is also within normal range and the test done by XXXXXXX vidas is reliable so just calm down, be relaxed, forget about the episode and move ahead in life happily.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Dear doctor

Thank you very much thank you for your assurance. I have 3 questions.
1. Do you see any abnormalities in my antigen portion of the test. At 102 days it is Non detected but at 196 days it is 0.02. I have heard antigen is a viral protein. I have no risk exposure in between. This keeps me in fear.
2. Oral lukoplakia, Shivering of any part of my body (sometimes), little bit of pain in my lymph nodes area is my problem I am suffering now. I have also noticed red rashes in my both legs 8 days back. They gone automatically. Some black spots in my back are there.
3. Any rare strain of viruses of Hiv are there that cannot be detectable by 4th generation Elfa test at 196 days? Do you suggest any test for needle exposure?. I was completely fit and fine before the needle exposure. My Hep C is negative at 196 days. My marriage is on April last week.
Seeking your kind suggestion Sir.

Brief Answer:

No any test for HIV is needed.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

No antigen or antibody or rare strain of virus is detected if the window period of 3 months is passed so you need not go for any further test because your current test results are 100% conclusive and accurate.

Oral leukoplakia or pain in lymph node might be due to any other cause but not related to HIV so you can definitely go ahead with your marriage plan in April without any fear or worry.

Be relaxed, forget about the episode and live your life normally. For any further query feel free to ask me again.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Dear doctor

Kindly tell me how my antigen got detected that is 0.02 at 196 days. Previously it was Not detected at 102 days. What is the level of hiv antigen of a Hiv infected person. Do you think I am seroconverting now? Still I have pain in lymph nodes area (side of groin armpit and ear) a burning sensation in back and tingling of toes fingers and other parts of the body sometimes. At 196 days antibody became 0.00 from 0.06 at 102 days. Is it normal?. I went through the sites where I found everybody has some values of antibody. I had TB 12 years ago. Could it the possible reason for not producing antibodies. I am totally jumbled up Sir, with my physical symptoms and the test results. Need your help Sir. Test are done by XXXXXXX Vidas (Cut off 0.25)
My Hep B result is same 0.01 at both 102 and 196 days but that of Hiv changed completely.
At 102 days Antibody 0.06 antigen Not detected
At 196 days Antibody 0.00 antigen 0.02
Whether 0.01 of Hep B(Surface antigen) means little bit of Hep B in my body (Cut off 0.13)Test by XXXXXXX Vidas.
Hep C antibody test is negative at 102 and 196 days.
Kindly help.

Brief Answer:

Please relax, the test results are negative even after 6months

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

You are absolutely safe and risk-free from HIV because the test results are negative even after 6 months so don't think much about the value as it has no sign up to value 1.

Any value below one is considered as negative and value can be different on different occasions so just calm down.

The symptoms are definitely not related to HIV. Consult the physician to isolate the cause and follow the treatment. It can be due to dormant TB infection also.

If still, you are not able to cope up with the stress or anxiety then it is better to consult any psychologist and consider counseling services.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
