Does Postponement Of Menstruation Affect Hormonal Test Results?
Brief Answer:
tests should be done on day 2 only
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Hormonal levels change with the days of the menstrual cycle.
Hence these hormonal tests (FSH, TSH, LH, Prolactin) are advised on the day 2 of the cycle.
Postponement of the periods can be done by progesterone hormone. It will alter the hormonal levels if periods are postponed.
It is better to get it done in the next cycle, if day 2 tests are not possible in this cycle.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
