Brief Answer:
You need to see another local doctor
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
I read your query and understand your concerns.
Since the condition is diagnosed and suitable treatment found (xanax) for last 20 years I do not see any reason for termination unless there was no abuse of medication.
I think first you need to contact him again and let him know that you need that medication and never breached contract in last 20 years.
If that letter was not from him he will definitely will take you back.
In case the letter is from him and he is not willing to treat you further the only option is seek another doctor in your area.
I hope this helps you.
Thanks and regards.

Can a doctor just fire you in the middle of a health crises?? Is there no legal recourse?
Brief Answer:
Not without valid eason
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.
A doctor can fire you at any moment if there is some valid reason to do so. It is his moral duty to help his patients but i he finds there is something wrong with patient like abuse, diversion he have all rights to fire you.
I do not think the option of legal recourse is there as doctors can fire a patient when he himself finds difficult to continue with patient due to personal reasons. Although on this part questions I think a lawyer will be in better position to answer.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for my future patients.
