Does Regular Physiotherapy Help In Severe Back Pain?
I visited a Hospital and is currently undergoing treatment. I was following orthopedist Dr. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX XXXXXXX (Metro Hostpital, Preet Vihar, Delhi-92).
Later I was advised to check with Oncologist and had CT SCAN. On the basis of the CT Scan I was asked again to follow the Orthopedist.
Currently, Orthopedist have recommended me to follow the medication and exercises (physiotherapy).
I would like to have second opinion on my treatment.
Regular physiotherapy is necessary.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
I have seen the attached reports. There are some spondylottic changes in the spine that is causing the back pain in your case. The treatment that you are getting is correct. Oral muscle relaxants can provide a prolonged relief. You also need to avoid bending forwards and try to use a firm mattress which gives a good back support.
Regular physiotherapy is the only way to retard the disease progression and further deterioration of the problem. The treatment you are getting is correct. Epidural Steroid Injections may be needed in case the pain is persistent . These deliver steroids directly into the painful area of the lower back to reduce inflammation. It doesn't heal the components of the back, but often provides enough pain relief to allow patients to move, exercise and heal.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
