Does Spotting When On Coumadin Indicative Of Vaginal Atrophy?
Question: Age 52 On coumadin with spotting for years; it hurts on right side of vagina when inserting tampon. Could this be vaginal atrophy as Dr says uterus seems ok

1. You are right, There is probably vaginal atrophy which is causing this pain.
2. Though uterus seems normal, it has got nothing to do with dryness.
3. Dryness occurs due to Decreased estrogen hormone leading to vaginal atrophy. Hence I suggest you use lubricating estrogen cream while inserting tampons which will reduce pains.
