Does Stopping Of Minokem N % Lotion Abruptly Cause Any Side Effects?
I'm an XXXXXXX and i have androgenetic alopecia hair loss at grade-III, my doctor suggested me to use minokem -n 5% lotion has to use for longer time, ex: more than years, it may be life time also (means till you are in a opinion not to care about your hair). And he suggested one shampoo for every day morning hair wash.
And also he suggested me 2 tablets (tricovin tablet & finabald tablet) to use for one year (daily 2 tablets)..
My question is if I use that lotion for one year and then if i stop, then is it cause any side effects or it cause hair fall at greater rate than normal rate(normal rate in the sense, before I use these lotions, medicine) after stopping usage of minokem n 5% lotion..
Please suggest me to be helpful. Im waiting for your response.
Hair fall will not be greater than the normal rate if you stop the medicine
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX Hi
Good afternoon!
I really appreciate your concerns for the efficacy of the prescribed medications on long run and its response if you discontinue the treatment.
After going through the details of your query it seems to me your doctor has prescribed the standard drug therapy for this kind of hair fall, the results of which are usually noticeable over a period of 6-12 months of regular Minokem N % lotion and oral treatment with Tricovin and Finabald tablets depending on the severity of hair fall.
The goal with this therapy is to arrest or slow down further progression. New hair regrowth is an added advantage but response varies from individual to individual. The results are maximal at 1-2 years of the prescribed combined treatment and then may be maintained with just oral treatment with the tablets.
Hair loss will return if you stop it but the rate of hair fall will not be greater than the normal rate as seen before starting the treatment with these medicines.
Therefore, start treatment as early as possible and to maintain the improvement with life long treatment.
Hope I could clarify your doubts regarding the efficacy of the prescribed medications.
Should you need to ask, a follow up query is always welcome.
Best regards.
