Does Subserosal Myoma Harm Baby During Pregnancy?

LMP-15.07.2014
Gestational age (from LMP) - 8 weeks 4 days.
CRL- 17.7 mm - 8 weeks 2 days.
Will subserosal myoma harm my baby?? Pls help how to handle this problem? I use to journey 70 kms / day via train for my job. Is it permissible like 2 days in a week?
myoma is harmless and travel safely
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for consulting HCM.
First of all would like to tell you that your pregnancy is proceeding absolutely fine with the growth and decidualisation being adequate as per scan.
As far as the myoma is concerned , the very fact it is subserosal makes it safe for pregnancy. with increasing gestation this fibroid shall flatten and accommodate the pregnancy. under no circumstances would it deter the growth of the fetus.
As far as travelling by train is concerned, you can travel but make sure no bumps or jerks . if that can be taken care of , then its fine . ideally we advise travelling long distances only in the second trimester.
Hope, I have answered your query.

susten is progesterone and not estrogen
Detailed Answer:
hello XXXX
thanks for the follow up .
First of all Susten 200 is not an estrogen tab, infact its a progesterone tab which has been advised to you to support the pregnancy further and can be continued till 14 weeks period of gestation.
this is a practice among some practitioners to use susten emperically or in cases who have precious pregnancy or other risk factors as in your case ---the myoma.
for subserosal myoma , you have to understand that it is not inside the uterine cavity but on the outside surface of the uterus and it is not going to interfere pregnancy in any way.
also, there are no medications to be given during pregnancy to reduce the size of myoma like GnRH analogues. any such medication is contraindicated.the myoma shall thin out once the uterus starts growing.
you must deem it as a normal pregnancy. the ultrasound which your physician has asked is a follow up ultrasound to see the growth of the foetus and to my opinion MRI would be an exaggeration to the situation which would just let you know the size nad position of myoma( mapping of fibroid). anyways no myomectomy will be done during pregnancy , so MRI is not required.
just take folvite and duvadilan and susten till 14 weeks and then you can convert to iron and calcium tabs after that.
thanks , regards,
