Posted on Thu, 27 Apr 2017
Question: My friend is concerned that he has take Musinex today and also has taken a blood thinner Pradaxa today and his oxygen levels are lower than usual. The oxygen level got as low as 88 and then up to 92. His oxygen levels are usually 94 0r 95. Could the interaction of taking these two medications today have caused his Oxygen levels to decrease? If so, how concerned should he be?

Brief Answer:
No need to worry

Detailed Answer:
Dear sir, there are no interaction between the to drugs that can cause low oxygen levels.

However Pradaxa can cause irregular breathing which may have caused that low oxygen level. There is no need to worry since the level has improved.

I hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask further.
Regards
