Does The Metasternum Get Affected During Pregnancy?

Question: Can xiphoid process be affected after pregnancy? Mine seems a little uncomfortable and I've never had an issue before, but had a baby 7 months ago and just started noticing this a month ago.
Brief Answer:
Yes
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
Yes, the xiphoid process is affected in pregnancy.
It stretches and the ligaments also stretch in pregnancy, in response to the increasing size of the uterus.
This can cause discomfort and pain in the third trimester of pregnancy and for few months after pregnancy.
You should consult an orthopedician to get appropriate investigation and treatment done.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
