Does This Mean Cancer Hemoglobin Became 10.5 While Iron Is Still 16?

default
Posted on Thu, 1 Aug 2024
Question: My endoscopy and colonoscopy are clear, though my hemoglobin read 8.2 and serum iron read 12 ( normal range 65-175).
After 2 months of Ferroglobin and B12, Hemoglobin became 10.5 while iron is still 16.
The doctor requested B2 microglobulin and it reads 2.67 while range is 0.6-2.4
Does this mean cancer? I attach hereto analysis results.

Brief Answer:
See details below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I see the test results you uploaded and most of my them are normal except haemoglobin which is 10.5 and iron 16.
Haemoglobin has been 8.2 to 10.5 and iron 12 to 16 and this is enough improvement for two months treatment. I think you may need to continue treatment for one more month and retest it by the end of the month.
The B2 microglobulin 2. 67 and it is normal up to 2.5 under 60 and up to 3 over 60 years of age.
I think you may need further tests such total protein, albumin, protein electrophoresis.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks.
