Does Thyroxine Deficiency Cause Vitamin D Deficiency?
Question: I am diagnosed to have vitamin d deficiency (4ng/ml vs 30ng/ml ). Can this be caused by thyroxin level issue?.
Brief Answer:
not really caused by thyroxin deficiency.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX hi! welcome to HCM.
your vitamin D levels are really very low. you must start with vitamin D replacement. the vitamin D levels are not caused by thyroxine deficiency or excess of it. nor are they metabolically directly related. but yes, both are essential for metabolic system of the body. so deficiency of one aggravates or exacerbates the deficiency of the other. we must correct both individually to achieve optimal health and optimal functioning of the body. regards!
