Does Tonsillitis Cause Systemic Infection Or UTI?

Question: Hi, I have had recurrent tonsillitis on left side which comes with generalized muscle aches and a UTI. I saw an ENT yesterday, and he took tissue swabs for the lab and mentioned biofilms. Is there a connection between tonsillitis and systemic infection/UTI?
Brief Answer:
Tonsillitis can cause systemic symptoms
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Recurrent tonsillitis is usually caused by bacteria streptococci. This organism can cause fever and body aches in many people. Less often it can cause arthritis and rarely even an inflammation of the heart. It is not the usual organism in a urinary tract infection. It is a common cause of upper respiratory tract infection.
