Does Transient Loss Of Vision Need Medical Attention?
Question: I awoke with a visual disturbance that appears like rippling water or broke glasses with jagged edge that is brightly lit. Does this call for an emergency visit to a retinologist?
Brief Answer:
Calm, drink fluid, avoid driving, if headache see Dr
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,
I understand this could be very disturbing, especially if you are experiencing this for the first time.
However, if you have no headache, no eye redness, no discharge from the eyes nor eye swelling, I do not think you need to be too concerned to see the retinologist-opthalmologist at this point.
This should be transitory. you stay calm, drink of water, avoid to drive and in case of persistence or worsening in the next 48 hours, see your doctor.
Thanks and kind regards as I wish you the best of health.
