Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi wani. I will be answering your concerns today.
Use of vibrator for masturbation is known to cause numbness, bruises, and infection in some. But it does not cause hernia.
Hernia occurs due to weakness of muscles.
I hope this helps.
If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.
Best wishes,
Dr Rama

the only reason im asking, is because I know exactly when I got the hernia... a week ago, between 7-8:30pm, (im a performer it was between shows) I had just received a package in the mail of a really great vibrator I ordere4d... I DID my thing... and like many other times... I have had a sore stomach after (not all the time) and so I continued on with my night... I went to sleep and when I woke up at 4am to use the restroom, I noticed the lump in mny stomach. im almost 100% sure theres nothing else I was doing that could have caused that
Brief Answer:
It is a coincidence that hernia occurred on the day you used the vibrator.

Brief Answer:
Strain on abdominal muscles is not much during masturbation to cause hernia
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
As I already mentioned, hernia occurs due to weak abdominal muscles. Weakness in abdominal muscles can occur due to overstretching of abdominal muscles (as in obesity, pregnancy etc) and straining of muscles ( heavy lifting, constipation, chronic cough etc).
Strain on abdominal muscles is not much during masturbation to cause hernia.

ok so i cant tell what your trying to say... (kidding) - in a nutshell you are saying that strain on abdominal muscles during masturbation (even pretty athletic masturbation) is not in itself enough to cause a hernia. I have had two pregnancies (15 and 17 years ago) I don't tend to heavy lift but i am considered obese i guess (5'5 230lbs) - im an athletic person though... i guess as we get older i cant assume im as healthy as a horse anymore (until last week id never had a single stitch, operation, or even cavity) - I do play guitar and violin and i sing several hours a day (i think the singing might be straining... like when im doing the Janis Joplin kind of thing... ) (im pretty sure no one ever got a h ernia playing violin) haha - i guess what you are saying its the right combination of these things... being overweight, coughing a lot in the mornings (Allergies). singing out strongly fgor hours a day... - please confirm that ive finally got it!
Brief Answer:
Obesity and chronic cough are the reasons for hernia
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Obesity and cough are the contributing factors for the hernia. In my opinion singing is not the cause. Scientifically also there is no evidence that singing causes hernia.
