Does Vasectomy Fail After 6 Years ?
Question: I had vasectomy 6 years ago. Heard about late failures so had test done at quest diagnostics. Result was none seen on concentrated specimen. Reference range none seen. Am I ok at this point and considered sterile?
Brief Answer:
Sterile.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Vasectomy is a safe procedure and failure rate is very low. Failure happens when the divided ends of the vas reunite which is very rare after five years.
In your case there is no sperm cells are detected and thus sterilisation is adequate and complete.
Hope I have answered your query.
Thanks
