Brief Answer:
I would explain as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Dear,

I read carefully your test results and would like to congratulate you as it seems that your are doing great, as your recent blood lipid profile is much better compared to the previous one.

Coming to this point, I would recommend performing aerobics to help reduce LDL values naturally and try to maintain a normal fasting glucose levels. I would not recommend starting statins considering this last blood lipid profile!

I would also like to know more about your blood pressure values. Are they within the normal ranges (below 130/85mm Hg) most of the time? A good control of blood pressure values would help reduce your cardio-vascular risk.

Continue on a healthy diet and regular physical activity.

Hope you will find this information helpful!

I remain at your disposal in case of further questions whenever you need!

Wishing all the best,

Dr. Sharka,
My blood pressure is a whole another topic meaning sometimes it's beautiful and sometimes
Our of no where it may go up. Usually my blood pressure doesn't creep up until early morning when I get up first thing on the morning. I think my medicine is not holding me all night till the morning. I take during the morning synthyroid 88mcg, losartan hctz 50mg /12.5 mg once a day in the morning and bystolic 5 mg once a day in the morning. My pulse is always around 85 and 90 or higher at a rested period.
Night time I take Norvasc 5 mg and that's all.
I have a concern about my triglycerides because that number changed from the last time for the worst and I don't know why??? So, to be clear aerobic exercise does that or can that consist of treadmill walking and if so, for how long and how many times a week should I focus on.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Thank you for the additional information!

The changes in triglyceride levels are not concerning about anything serious. They are related to your diet.

Regarding aerobics, it consists of rhythmic activity, which does not cause anaerobic muscle . So, it is ok to treadmill, but just for 20 minutes walking, no straining physical every day.

You can watch aerobic exercise on youtube too.

Hope you will find this information helpful!

Dr. Sharka, it's it ok and healthy for me to eat these crackers daily? Also, can I take niacin or what other natural supplement to help lower my triglycerides faster but safely? If so, how much niacin. Please keep in mind that I have terrible hot flashes and night seats. Also, the doctor would like for me to consider taking a low estrogen - progesterone hormone pill to help with these hot flashes etc and claims it should help my cholesterol as well. What's your opinion on this? I really don't want to take anymore medicine. I would live to be off of it all it I could at this point. Below is the ingredients for the crackers I like daily. I hope they did not raise my triglycerides because I just started eating them a few weeks before having the blood work.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

I understand your concern and would explain Niacin may worsen the hot flashes.
That is why I recommend taking a low dose of Niacin daily ( 50-100mg).

Regarding estrogen/ progesterone pills, they may help improve your situation but there are a lot of adverse effects. Anyway, I would not recommend taking such pills for your blood lipid profile.

Regarding your diet, I would recommend reducing the amount of crackers, as they contain saturated fat, which may increase triglycerides and cholesterol levels.

Hope you will find this information helpful!

Wishing all the best,
