Dr. XXXXXXX Thanks For The Wish, However The Problem Remains.
Yes, that is what I have been saying in my last answer.
Detailed Answer:
Hello Ms Haydn,
Thank you very much for writing back to me about what you think might be going on.
In my answers to your queries previously, I did say that muscle weakness is probably due to old age and cancer.
I did not use the particular term sarcopenia, but that was what I was referring to.
I do think the main problem in your case is most likely wasting of muscles due to cancer cachexia in addition to normal ageing process.
As you have mentioned, cancers as well cancer surgeries will only make sarcopenia worse along with advancing age and pancreatitis.
To regain strength, you must increase the protein content in your diet.
If the muscle wasting is extreme, then anabolic steroids can be taken under the supervision of an endocrinologist to increase the muscle mass.
Gradual increase in exercise duration will build muscle if you take adequate proteins in your diet.
Please do discuss with your endocrinologist as well as your neurologists regarding sarcopenia and using anabolic steroids to correct the same.
I hope you will find this information useful.
Wishing you the very best.
Warmest regards
So now I feel a great relief knowing I am not nuts and will do what I can to recover. at the risk of imposing upon you further, can you explain how the cancer causes wasting (cachexia)? No cancer has been found internally on scans; only on tumor markers. I have not lost weight. I no longer have pancreatitis. I have just learned that Sarcopenia is not helped with regular exercise but rather by resistance training. I could have started this 5 years ago if I had known. I am starting that soon along with your suggestion of more protein. I will keep the idea of anabolic steroids in mind. I now have my answer and have hope. I am also starting a Cannabis oil for cancer called THCA and also CBD/A. This was just revealed to me along with research. ( no mind altering effects).I am deeply indebted to you. www.haydnanthony.com. I hope you see some art you like. Perhaps I will have an exhibit in XXXXXXX one day. My best friends are from Ahmedebad.
Cancer therapy also can contribute, please discuss with your doctors.
Detailed Answer:
Hello Ms Haydn,
Thank you for writing back with further details.
I understand how frustrating it must have been for so long.
I agree with your assessment regarding earlier starting of resistant training, that would have helped.
I did go through your collection of art on your site and I appreciate it very much. Thank you for sharing that with me.
Cannabis oil does show some promise, it might help you, so you can go ahead and try it.
Do discuss all this with your treating doctors.
All the conditions you have been through, including the cancer treatment do cause muscular wasting, even if there is no perceptible weight loss.
I hope you will see improvement sooner than later.
I wish you the very best.
