Dr XXXXXXX We Liaised Recently Re A Lesion On My

Question: Dr XXXXXXX we liaised recently re a lesion On my nose. A dermatologist had used liquid nitrogen on it, then I went on holiday and showed a general practitioner as there was still evidence of the lesion. He thought it was a BCC and did a punch biopsy. I sent you the pathology report and you said it was fine. The freezing was done on 4 April and the biopsy taken 4 weeks ago. The last 10 days the area around the freezing site has become slightly raised and now there is also a small lump above the biopsy site. Do you know what might be happening? I will try to attach some photos. If you need the biopsy report again I can try and send again. Im concerned either the cryotherapy or the biopsy has caused some skin tissue damage.

Brief Answer:
Post cryotherapy skin changes
Detailed Answer:
Hello there,
Thanks for the query and photographs.
Yes, I remember we had discussed this.
The photographs show a yellowish red elevated discoloration on your nose.
This usually happens post cryotherapy.
Cryotherapy causes damage to cells and these dead cells peel off.
Don't worry, the new skin will appear and your nose will become normal.
Let me know if you have any doubts.
Thank you.

I do have some doubts because the area had already bubbled up, scabbed and subsided after the treatment. This is now 2 months after the cryotherapy. It did seem to get worse after the biopsy. That is, an area about the size of a fingernail is now raised. Also, within this general raised area there is a secondary raised ‘ lump’.
I have tried to attach a photo of nose post biopsy where u can see there is some general swelling still from cryotherapy but not as much as now. I took a new pic this morning. I would appreciate your thoughts. I have had liquid nitrogen treatment before but never on nose and this never happened. Many thanks.

Brief Answer:
Recovery with time
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the follow up.
Sometimes cryo causes damage to sebaceous and sweat glands.
When skin reappears after initial shedding, blebs form under the new skin and cause elevation.
These might disappear on their own with time, If they persist removal with radiofrequency ablator might be required.
I suggest you to wait for another 2 months and then decide further course of action.
Just relax it is definitely not cancer or anything dangerous.
Let me know if you have any doubts.
Thank you.
