Question: Dr.need opinion on bipolar disorder and its prognosis. Can a person lead a normal life with medication for bipolar disorder. Does it have any major complications on health.
Like wise kindly opine on Schizophrenia as well.

Most of the People suffering from bipolar disorder and schizophrenia can lead a fairly normal life if the treatment is taken as the psychiatrist advice.

Sometimes there can be relapse of symptoms even on medication. But this can be managed by change of drug/dose.

The disorders themselves can be serious in nature if not managed properly and timely. Aggression, homicidal or suicidal ideas, suspiciousness can cause major life problems.

Regarding the side effect of medications, yes there are side effects. Many of these can be monitored by regular basic investigations and managed accordingly. Sometime lifestyle and dietary changes can also help.
