Hello
Welcome to Health Care Magic

He is just 20 and is a drug addict. He is currently demanding to buy a Luxurious car and is reassuring you that if you people buy him car he would stop taking drugs. He broke one car last year.

First of all I would like to tell you that most of the persons who abuse drugs are hostile in nature. They always have blackmailing attitude. If you will give up to his demands in future he will demand more things and this behavior will act as positive reinforcer to him. He will learn to use his behavior in negotiations. In future he may go in crimes. So don't buy him car, if you really want to do good for him, negotiate in your own terms. Ask him to quit drug now, and tell him that if he will maintain normal life without drugs for at least 6 months only then we can give you a car.

Now how to get rid of drugs. This depends upon which drug he is taking. In question you haven't mentioned the type of drug, you can mention in follow up question.
To quit drug first stage is to have enough motivation to quit. Talk to him about his life, drug behavior, future plans and effects of drug on future. Try to motivate him to quit drugs. Once he become ready to quit drug then opinion with a good Psychiatrist is needed.
In detoxification process first of all any drug that is non addicting or is less potent is given to patient in replacement to main drug. This prevents acute withdrawal syndrome. Once individual is in stabilization phase then the new drug is gradually tapered. Long term maintenance drugs are used to prevent relapse and to reduce craving. Give him a warm and loving support he will come out of this mess.

Hope I cleared your doubt, If you have more doubts you can ask in follow up questions.
