During The Last Four Days, I Have Had A Specific,
Question: During the last four days, I have had a specific, dull, constant pain on my right iliac crest. The pain does not radiate elsewhere, nor does it seem to be in the muscle or tissues surrounding that area. Aspirin (NSAID) seems to take away the severity of the pain, but when I press on the spot where I have located the pain, it still hurts. What could this be? Is it orthopedic in nature, requiring an x-ray? Could it be Polymyalgia Rheumatica, which I had for a short period 11 years ago? Should I see a Rheumatologist?
By way of background, I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in late 2018, and had 45 Radiation Treatments of my pelvic area that were completed in February 2019. My PSA is still low when it was last tested six months ago. Any insights as to the origin of this pain, and as to appropriate treatment, would be very much appreciated.

I should add that I had my second vaccination injection of the Pfizer vaccine on February 9. I have not had any side effects from the injection other than a sore shoulder. I do not think that the pain on my right Iliac Crest is related to the vaccination.
Brief Answer:
Possibly muscle pain or tendinitis.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
The pain on the iliac crest is possibly caused because of injury or pain on muscles around the iliac crest or iliolumbar ligament inflammation.
It's too early to talk about polymyalgia rheumatica .
Please continue taking anti-inflammatory drugs such as Acetaminophen or ibuprofen which will help it subside.
No relation with vaccination as you can guess.
Hope I have answered the question.

Thank you for your prompt response. While waiting for the response, I did some research online. Based upon my research, it appears that the pain is TROCHANTERIC BURSITIS. Do you believe that my pain might be classified as such, rather than the muscles around the iliac crest? Thank you for your consideration of this alternative.
Brief Answer:
See details below.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.
Usually the trochanteric bursitis can cause an intense pain during first days which may radiate to the leg or behind the hip and also causes difficulty on moving , walking or climbing stairs.
It is true that it can be most common pain of the hip pain but since you are not having difficulty moving the hip , and it is not radiating on upper leg it may not be bursitis.
You can ask for a x-ray.
Also using anti-inflammatory drugs such ibuprofen is advisable.
