ESSENTIAL TREMOR About Five Years Ago, I Was Diagnosed With

Question: ESSENTIAL TREMOR

About five years ago, I was diagnosed with a mild case of essential tremor in my right hand that is not Parkin-
son. It has not gotten any worse or better and I’m wondering is there any oral treatment available that will
reduce the tremor. I’m aware of the brain treatment surgery and am not interested in such a radical remedy
because I can certainly live with the existing mild tremor as long as it doesn’t deteriorate any further over time.

Brief Answer:
Oral medicines are indeed available...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Essential tremors can be very well treated with oral medications. Since you are diagnosed as essential tremors, I hope other conditions including anxiety and hyperthyroidism are ruled out.

Betablocker drugs are highly effective in the treatment. It is however a prescription drug. You can discuss about it with your treating doctor.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.
