Everyday Taking Herbal Supplement Of Herb Peruvian Maca Does This Herbal Ingredients Interfere With HIV Test Result?
Question: Hello Doctor,
Please real all my post in details.
I wast tested for HIV 4 YEARS after my last risk exposure.
Method: ECLIA, HIV antibody only test.
Result: nonreactive index value 0.576
Reference range: <0.9 negative; 0.9-1.0 borderline; >1.0 positive
BUT:
One year before my test and in the day of test i was EVERY day taking herbal supplement of herb Peruvian Maca (it s sort of adaptogen)
Ingridiants of tablets: Dry extract of herb Peruvian Maca, dry extract of Greek seed, bee pollen, lactose monohydrat, microcrystal celulose, Mg stearat, L arginine and talk).
My questions:
1.Could this tablets make false negative hiv antibody test, i mean could they interfere with this mentioned assay or reagents in it and mask real result?
2. Do i need to retest?
3. I am totaly free of HIV?
( i am aware that these tablets cannot block my immune response, i am asking could they interefere with this test itself, with assay and reagents in it and make false negative result).
Thank you.
Jonna
