Question: Everytime My 16 year old granddaughted eats she needs to go to the bathroom, she has lost 7 lbs in 2 months this has been going on for 2 months. She has had extensive blood work and it all came back good even a stool test came back good. She went yesterday for an ultra sound and is scheduled to have a colonoscopy and also a test to check her stomach. I was looking on line and thinking it could be irritable bowel I know we have to wait for the results, but my questions is if it was cancer would it at least show in the bloodwork . I just feel very anxious.

Brief Answer:
Possible gluten intolerance.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

I am sorry to hear this situation she is having. I think if it was a cancer it could have shown in blood work or even feces heaving blood traces on feces.
I think she may be having celiac disease or gluten intolerance disease also other food intolerances are possible.
She can do gluten intolerance tests and also can have gluten free diet which will make her to be without symptoms.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
