Everytime We Put Head Bath To Our 3 Year Old Son He Falls Sick
today head bath was put around 2pm only. immediately after that steaming was done and put him to bed. while he was sleeping, vics was also applied. he slept for about half an HR. after that he was bit cranky and developed cold. by around 8 pm he started developing feaver too. he slept just now (9.15 pm) with heavy congesation in lungs, and feaver.
he might wake up multiple times at night for uneasiness, so what can be done now.
also why does this happen
Unlikely from bathing
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
It is quite common for children to get frequent flu in this season- this is usually transmitted form household contacts(someone caring child may be having similar symptoms). It is not related to bathing- just co-incidental only
Most of these are viral, and need supportive measures only- Just give Calpol 4 times daily for 2-3 days, along with an anti-histamine(Sy Levocetirizine 3.5ml at night) and a nasal decongestant. Take him to doctor only if fever is not subsiding after 4-5 days, or if he develops breathing difficulty.
Keeping children away from persons with cold will help to reduce frequency.
Yearly Flu shot is also good- will reduce progression of flu to pneumonia.
I hope this answer will help
Take care.
we have given him flu shot.
there no one with cold sumptuous at home. we have observed this multiple times that after head bath hi has this issue. it will start with cold (running nose) and slowly elevated to fever.
he is currently don't fine and almost back to normal though
No need to worry
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
It is possible to have some nasal congestion/stuffiness after bath, but presence of fever indicates an infection in the body- this is not possible after bath at home(can happen after outdoor bathing). Infection, as I said, usually is spread from someone else with fever/cold- not necessarily form home, but can also be from their peers while playing, baby sitters, play schools or anybody coming in contact with them. The contact may be having just cold symptoms/cough, without fever
Also, it is better to give regular daily bathing rather than giving once in a while- so that body will get adapted.
I hope this is clear.
