Fell Down On Elbow. Bruise Appeared And Getting Pain After Few Days. What Could This Be?
Question: My aunt fell a month ago on her elbow and it healed but recently it has started to hurt again and last night it became warm and today it is bruised again what could this be
Hi
Due to trauma to your aunt's elbow one month back, small quantity of blood might have collected in the deeper layers of that area.
Because of the continuous activity or action, the collected blood might have come superficially and appeared as bruise and warm on palpation.
Nothing to worry.
It will be subsided gradually.
If it is painful ,please take Skeletal muscle relaxant.
If it has not come down after few weeks, get an X XXXXXXX of that area and Ultrasound for any collection in the layers.
As of now,nothing to worry.
Wish her good health
Regards

Hi again she ended up at emerge and the doctor there did not go into detail the way you have. He stated that he felt it was brisidos an gave her antibiotics for a blood infection!!!
We do not have confidence in what he said but what should she do??
What was strange is that it went away then reappeared

Hi
At the time of initial presentation,it might have looked like a bruise. So,he prescribed antibiotics.
But,the blood collected beneath did not resolve and might have come to the superficial layer and is visible again.
Please add an Antibiotic to muscle relaxant tablet.
Get an X XXXXXXX and ultrasound of the area.
If you have an option XXXXXXX a General surgeon or Orthopaedician.
Wish her speedy recovery
