Fitbit Just Did An Update With A Graph Showing How
Question: Fitbit just did an update with a graph showing how much your O2 varies during sleep. Mine usually shows one or two spikes meaning higher that normal variation but I don't know from what level it's varying or by how much. My readings with oxymeter are always around 98-100 including in the morning and exercise.... With an occasional reading of 95. If there was a problem would I have constant spikes? Are a few O2 variations okay... Have no idea what to make of this graph.
Brief Answer:
You are having normal values.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
Few variations of oxygenation percentage within the normal range are normal.
The blood oxygenation varies from 95-100% and it is considered low only if under 90%.
You are having quite normal values and any fluctuations within this range are quite normal.
You don't have to worry about it.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

The sleep graph doesn't tell you what the readings are at nigh, just when it varies from your norm which it also doesn't give. Some nights are all "in the green" or small variations.... But some nights on or two in orange (large variations)
Brief Answer:
You don't have to worry about it.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thank you for asking again.
I see the screenshots you upload and there are seen few variations marked with orange. I don't think these can be problematic. The Fitbit is not a medical device and the graphic can change by the possition of the arm.
If you also feel tired and experience snoring you may need to consult a doctor to examine you but if you don't have any symptoms you don't have to worry about it .

If there was a problem, wouldn't I see the peaks throughout the night and also every night? I even checked back, as apparently the app went back and put the graphs back to December. I had a 4 to 5 week cough (could've been covid, was weird) and even then, same thing.... Many nights perfectly stable and some with one or two peaks.
Brief Answer:
I don't suspect any problem there.
Detailed Answer:
I was saying the same thing you are saying that if there was a problem the yellow peaks would be every night and more frequent.
The yellow peaks are sporadic and not constant. Also this device is not so accurate because it may show changes depending on the possition of the arm.
I don't think you have to worry and not other investigations are needed.
If you feel that you have been snowing, are sleepy during day and tired or have difficulty breathing you can get further evaluated.
