For 2 Weeks Now I’ve Had A Reverberation In My

Question: For 2 weeks now I’ve had a reverberation in my left ear, though my right ear feels a bit odd. Notably my left ear though. I’m hearing a ‘boom’ or echo noise after hearing a loud sound. I feel plugged up in general in my head. My ears have felt off and on discomforts Also when blinking hard I feel a weird noise in my left ear too. I’m very paranoid about Meneieres disease.

Not sure if relevant, but 3 months ago I got vertigo for a few seconds, for a couple days. I was then disoriented and still have some slight balance problems to this day. Went to the doctor a few weeks ago and got a positive Dix Hallpike, but I didn’t know if that’s for BPPV or could indicate Meneires?

Brief Answer:
You are having tinnitus as evident for symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You are having tinnitus as evident for symptoms. Are you having regular giddiness which increases on change of posture in bed?Do you have frequent giddiness? Please consult an ENT surgeon.

Please check your postural blood pressure,Dix hall pike test. If it is positive you are suffering from BPPV then you should undergo epleys manouvre. This manouvre is an exercise to reposition calcium crystals back to the canal. Repeat the manouvre after 1 week.

If you are suspicious of Meniere's then please be alert on next episode of giddiness, whether you are having hearing loss, episodic giddiness during attacks.

Take less amount of tea, coffee, salt in diet. Consult a medicine physician also to rule out any other causes for giddiness. Relax and have a stress-free life. You can Tablet Vertin to relieve from sudden attack of vertigo.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
