Question: For a week now, I have had a pulsating feeling inside my anus, usually in the evening, and when I lay in bed. No itching or pain. To think that I may have pin works is driving me crazy. What else could it be?

Brief Answer:
You should be investigated

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

For any organ to survive, there should be good blood supply. It will be supplied by Arteries. Arteries will pulsate due to each heart beat. Haemorrhoids (Piles) will occur in relation to the arteries in the anus. You might be experiencing the pulsation due to artery in the Haemorrhoid. Any growth, Polyp inside the anus/rectum may also create the same feeling.

In worm infestation,at one point you see them in Stool. If they are not seen, it is excluded. Anal fissure is painful. As there is no pain in your case, it is excluded.

Please consult your doctor and get Sigmoidoscopy or Proctoscopy where you can visualize the area inside the Anal canal, Rectum.

Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health
Regards
