Question: For starters, I am a 36 year old overweight lady. I had unprotected sex at the end of October. I took plan b the next day. A week later I had a really heavy period and then a week after that I had another period. Everything seemed normal up until February when my normal period of 6-7 days became 4 and actual bleeding only occurred for the first 2 days. The other two days were just barely spotting, Same thing happened with my periods in March and April. I have taken 12 home pregnancy tests, all negative. I had a blood test done this week, also negative. I have been extremely tired and my breasts feel heavier and sore. I have also developed severe constipation within the last month. It could be stress induced. Today I feel really bloated and I am having sharp abdominal pains. The pains are coming and going. It feels like popping and then gurgling, along with some cramping. Is there still a possibility that I could be pregnant even with all the negative tests? Or is all the discomfort I am feeling more than likely due to the constipation? When I am able to pass a stool, there is a lot of mucus if that makes a difference.

Brief Answer:
Hormonal Variations leading to these problem

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns. Following is my reply:

1) This is absolutely not a pregnancy. These symptoms are related to hormonal variations that are seen to start at your age of 36.

2) These hormonal variations are responsible for your reduced bleeding, variations in periods and heavy feeling, soreness in breasts. This happens as there is beginning of slow transition towards menopause and hormonal variations.

3) Constipation is also related to this, as intestinal motility reduces. This leads to constipation.

4) Sharp abdominal and bloating is due to constipation and you need to take some laxatives to relieve the same. Mucus is not related to this.

Could the stomach pains and/or gas movement feel like a baby kicking? Or am I just worrying myself to death?
I really feel like something is in there...

Bowel movements.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Baby movements start only after 4 months of pregnancy. There is no possibility of baby movements at this stage.

Its just bowel movements. There is no reason to panic about pregnancy. Dont worry.
