Question: For the last 10-12 days I've noticed a "buzzing" at the base of my tailbone that occurs intermittently. It's not painful, but annoying. It feels similar to a vibrating cell phone, and lasts about a second each time, then stops. I've noticed it happening more frequently the past 3 days, maybe every few minutes. Sitting, standing, lying in bed.

Hi there

Thanks for the query

Do you have numbness over your back passage and private area?

Any shooting pain from your back to your legs?

This could be nerve compression in your spine which may be causing numbness. If there is associated symptoms as mentioned you may need an MRI spine.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

I have no additional symptoms, no pain in the lower back or private area, no numbness.

I do sit quite a bit for work, especially during the pandemic. But again, no other symptoms.

It could be disorder of the tail bone articulation. Yoga could get an xray of the coccyx to look for such chances. Use a donut cushion to sit on.
