Does Pain Is The Result Of Excessive Squeezing During Recent Bowl Movements?

default
Posted on Thu, 27 Feb 2025
Question: For the last few days I have been having lower back pain-left side above the hip. It got pretty bad last night and is still pretty bad today. I have tried my usual remedies, heat, TENS, ultrasound, but nothing is helping. Please note I have tinnitus, so the usual NSAIDS could cause a problem. My wife suggested to take a muscle relaxer, such as Tramadol, Cyclobenzaprine, Methylprednisolone or Presnisone, but I am again afraid of the worsening of the tinnitus. Any suggestions? I believe the pain is the result of excessive squeezing during recents bowl movements.

Brief Answer:
Renal colic

Detailed Answer:
Dear sir,
I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but lower left-sided back pain is most probably due to renal colics...

This is probably due to a urinary tract infection or a renal stone. I would recommend that you get a pelvic ultrasound to exclude renal stones and a urinalysis to exclude UTI...

Also, try to hydrate well with eight cups of water daily...

I hope you find this helpful
