Question: For the past ten years or so I have been experiencing episodes of air hunger adn increase sense of mucus in throat. My 02 is always normal during these episodes. The lack of air feeling is 24/7 and can last for weeks before it disappears. I've had heart exams all normal. Pulmonologist feels like its mild asthma (does not feel mild) and gave me a rescue inhaler and pulmicort which seem to have little effect. One night a few years ago I became very panicked during an episode and went to the ER where I was told it was anxiety related. I feel a constant need to clear my throat and it feels a bit constricted during episodes. What can this be
