Frequent Pain Near Left Abdomen Below The Ribcage

occurs sometime after consuming the food
Could be colitis
Detailed Answer:
Welcome,
There could be many reasons for this pain in abdomen. Mstly it could be due to colitis, gastric ulcer, or maybe a spleen enlargement. Since when do you have these symptoms? Do you have any other symptoms?
Do you have diarhea or constipation?
Do you get acidity?
Do you feel any lump on left side?
How is your breathing?
How is your diet?
A definite diagnosis can be made by examination (preferably by a surgeon) and some tests like typhidot, stool examination microscopy, cyst and ova. An ultrasound abdomen may also be needed.
Meanwhile drink cleaner water. Take some cow's milk after spicy meals.
Please answer above questions so that I am better able to help.
Regards,
Dr Vaishalee

Detailed Answer:
Hi again
Although gastric ulcer and colitis are possible in your case. A feeling of lump requires a diagnosis by a surgeon. He may run tests like an ultrasound of whole abdomen to find cause.
For acidity you may try the following:
- Avoid spicy foods and excessive eating
- Eat food when hungry at regular times
- Eat fruits during snack time
- Avoid bread or other foods that can aggravate acidity
- Drink antacids like gelusil, tums or cow's milk after a spicy or heavy meal
- Can take acidity medicines like pantoprazole if needed
