Getting Cyclical Sciatica And Hemahroid Flare Ups Could It Be A Hormonal Thing

Question: For the last 3 months i have been getting cyclical sciatica and hemahroid flare ups. It will start 5 days before my period and gets really severe during my period to the point i can't stand or walk at all, then starts to taper off getting a lot better during ovulation. I'm seeing a neurologist soon but I have a nagging feeling it has to do with my reproductive organs or hormones. But I have very light periods and short and I never get any cramps. Is it still a possibility it could be a hormonal thing?

Brief Answer:
Yes, It looks like endometriosis causing "catamenila shiatica"

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have read your question and here is my advice.
Yes this looks like related to your hormonal changes.I suspect a very uncommon syndrome called "cyclical catemenial shiatica syndrome" which exactly behaves the same that is pain in back and legs and weakness occurring durring menstrual cycle . This is caused by Endometriosis ( explained later ) causing compression of the nerve possible by endometrial tissue..The same( endometriosis) may also causes the haemorhoides. Let me explain it.

Endometriosis : Normally uterus of females have an inner specialised tissue called endometrium. This is a special type of tissie which swells and bleeds durring menses every month and hence causing the menstrual bleeding every months. This is normal as in every woman.( this tissue is only premet in uterus in normal females )Howe'ver very uncommonly some ladies may have this endometrial tissue in some other parts of body where it also swells and bleeds durring period , this is called endometriosis .Now for example if such mucosa is found in nose ; the lady may have nasal bleed with every cycle.
Now for you what I understand you may aslo be suffering from endometriosis .Such type of endometral tissue may occur in pelvis around the shiatic nerve , which durring cycle swells and hence press upon the shtiatic nerve to causes the cyclical weakness and pain what we call "catemenial cyclic shiatica" exactly as what happens to you .
Similarly the haemorhoides may well be explained by similar tissue in rectum which swells and bleeds durring menses.
So probably you probelem is related to endometriosis .
This is what at the moment looks like and would only be confirmed after proper evaluation and confirmation.
You shoud not worry alot as effective treatment is available for it .
Hopes I have answered your question. Please don't hesitate to ask anything else you need to know. I would be glad to answer.
Regards
