Given Ampitrexyl For Infected Tooth. What Dose Should I Take?
Question: My husband has an infected tooth and was given ampitrexyl for the infection. How often should he be taking the drug. He is 6'5 and 260 lbs.?
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
Ampitrexyl is the name given to the antibiotic called ampicillin. The usual adult dose is 500 mg taken every 6-8 hours (three or four times daily). It can be given for five days to cure the tooth infection.
I hope it helps.
