Question: Good Afternoon Doctor,
The patient (76 year old female) is known case of hemifacial spams in 2012 with k/c/o hypertension.We don't have the previous records available. As per the current consultation dated 31/10/2018, she is taking Tegretol 200. Request to share the prognosis from insurance point of view excluding the risk of hospitalisation and complication for long term use of anti-epileptic drugs and neurological complications.

I can understand your concern.
I have gone through the attachments you have provided.
Usually prognosis is good.
Tegretal is having carbamazepine.
It is also used for this kind of spasm.
As far as prognosis is concerned, prognosis is good because her MRI is not showing any focal lesion.
I want to know few more things
1. Are spasms controlled by the Tegretal?
2. Has she ever undergone EMG NCV study?
