Good Evening Doctor. My Husband Was Experiencing Loss Of Vision

My husband was experiencing loss of vision in the right eye for few minutes, say 3 to 4 minutes for the last one month. This was experienced for 5 times. When consulted eye doctor, eye tests were done and all reports are normal. Eye specialist advised to take consultation of neurologist and cardiologist for further.
As no neurologist was available in the hospital on the day of our visit, we consulted neuro surgeon. He advised for MRI scan. Report says old lacunar infarct in right cerebellar hemisphere.
My husband is a having BP for past 9 years.
Please advise the right specialist doctor to whom we should consult.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
After going to the medical details provided by you I can very well understand your concern for your husband's health and I would like to tell you that the right specialist whom you should consult for the current scenario is a neurologist.
However as the MRI report suggest that there is a lacunar infarct so so it becomes important to find out the underlying cause which could be cardiac also.
As your husband is hypertensive I would like to suggest you to kindly get two basic cardiac tests done .
1. Echocardiogram
2. Holter Monitoring
These two tests will help us to rule out cardioembolic etiology.
I hope this information will guide you on the right track and if you have any other doubts please feel free to ask me back.
Kind Regards
