Question: Good evening doctor. wanted to inform you I am suffering from skin allergy and have severe irritation usually in the evening for past one week. I was given injection of Avil and tablets. later family doctor yesterday asked me to use citrizen and use attached cream . it was only hands,. but now I notice itching on my thighs too. please help me cream below is applied with moisturizer in the ratio of 1:3

Hello.. thank you.

You seem to have eczematous dermatitis. I suggest you use an intensive moisturizer e.g Venusia XXXXXXX lotion Or Maxrich cream, twice daily. After moisturizer, I suggest you use a potent topical steroid cream e.g Halobetasol propionate 0.05% and Fusidic acid 2% combination e.g Halovate-F cream or Halox- F cream for red, eczematous areas for 2 weeks. Continue with tablet cetirizine 10mg, once or twice a day.

thank you doctor, I purchased the lotion and cream and started using. can you plea se clarify the following:. 1. is this contagious (should I keep my kids and wife far from me). 2. is this a disease which needs lot of time. 3. any specific diet. can I eat non veg?. 4. I notice now it spread from my hands to face and legs also. I am very much tensed. please advise. sorry to bother you. your advise is most appreciated.

Eczematous dermatitis is not contagious. Response to treatment is usually noticed within a few days. There are no specific diet recommendations or restrictions in eczematous dermatitis. Follow up after a week.
