Got My First Cold Sore About 3 Weeks Ago. About

Question: Got my first cold sore about 3 weeks ago. About a week after my cold sore I started getting these little red dots on my penis. Every now and then I used to get a couple of these similar dots almost like a zit, but I’d just shower really well and keep clean and they’d go away in a couple days. Tried the same tactic this time and they just aren’t going away. They get better for a day or two and almost go away completely, then I wake up in the morning with 4 or 5 more spots. Once again they go away ALMOST totally, but then come back right when it seems they are gone. There is no pain, no itching, no burning when I pee, none of the symptoms. But they are definitely unique, the tiny red dots all eventually get this little white dot on them. They don’t burst or “crust over” though like every article seems to explain.

Brief Answer:
Yeast infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have gone through your query and viewed the images.

You seem to have a yeast / candida balanitis. It can present as red bumps with macerated scaling.
I suggest you to take an oral antifungal e.g fluconazole 150mg tablet, once a day for 3 days. In addition I suggest you to apply a topical antifungal e.g clotrimazole cream, twice daily for a few days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you need any more assistance.

Hey, thanks for your reply. From all of the pictures online for yeast infections I don’t feel like that matches the look of mine. I’m going to have it checked out either way, but today I woke up with the other side of penis covered in this blotchy red “rash”. No noticeable bumps or lesions yet but just an odd slightly irritating bright red rash. Not sure if this still gives you the same impression?
