Greetings, My Name Is XXXXXXX I Am A 29 Year
My name is XXXXXXX I am a 29 year old male. 5'9 175 lbs. I am fairly healthy however I have developed some high blood pressure due to a recent sedimentary lifestyle change.
I take Lisinopril to manage the high blood pressure once a day. I used to be in the Marines however I now work full time for Lyft and spend most of my day sitting down.
In november of 2019, I began to develop a stabbing pain in my right lower abdomen everytime a consumed a meal. It was occurring in contractions and it was unlike anything I had ever felt before. After a day or so I began to feel a burning sensation over my entire stomach. It almost felt like my entire stomach was numb and I felt that along with that same right side lower abdomen pain. I went to the ER and received a Blood test, and CT Scan. Nothing was found during that test however they believed that it could be a stomach ulcer. I was prescribed ,Omeprazole, Famotidine and Carafate(Liquid) . Surprisingly enough, I began to feel better within 5 days of taking the medication. I also received a Colonoscopy during this time however nothing was found and they could not see enough due to stool being present and me not drinking I enough of the laxative liquid the night before.
I started taking the Ulcer medication in November and it was ok until around January 15th. I began feeling that same same pain in my right lower abdomen, however it started traveling to my right shoulder blade as well.At this point, I was no longer feeling that whole abdomen burning sensation. I once again went to the ER and had the same tests(CT,Blood Work) done and this time was told that my Liver Enzymes were slightly elevated within my blood test. So I was scheduled to see a Gastroenterologist.During this time I began eating soft foods because anything high in fat or hard textured made the pain worse.
It took roughly a month to get seen and it was a quite painful wait. When I finally was seen by my doctor, he told me that based off of my symptoms, it sounded like Gallbladder Issues. The next step was scheduling me for an ultrasound. This appointment with the Gastro Occurred on March 5th and my ultrasound appointment was set for April 15th so I had yet another month to wait for some kind of an answer.During that month I had began frantically looking for supplements and remedies to help me out in the meantime.
Finally when the 15th of April began approaching, I received a call stating that my ultrasound appointment must be rescheduled due to COVID -19 issues. They had to reschedule all of their patients appointments. Unfortunately my appointment got pushed all the way until XXXXXXX 15th and as you can imagine I was extremely disappointed as I have been waiting to find out what has been causing my pain. I have been suffering for quite some time now, scavenging the internet for remedies and supplements that will provide relief that can at least hold me over until XXXXXXX 15th.The uncertainty of this all is hard.
I have now developed a numbing sensation throughout my whole body and nausea after every meal . The stabbing pain I felt in the beginning of this process has now become a dull pain in my upper abdomen and I am truly beyond worried at this point. It worries me that I have this body numbness and tingling after every meal along with nausea, right shoulder pain, and abdominal pain. My main focus has now been to last until XXXXXXX 15th so that I can at least find out the cause of my pain. I consider myself to be a roughly calm and patient individual, however I must admit I have cried due to the intesenity of the pain and uncertainty of not knowing the source of the pain. The development of these new symptoms has added to my worry and I suppose my question is :
1) Does this sound like a Gallbladder issue?
2) Are numbness / tingling a symptom of gallbladder issues.
3) Can my gallbladder be causing the increase in liver enzymes that my blood test revealed?
4) Could this possibly be a liver issue?
I have done so much research on my symptoms and come across so many different hings that it could be however im clearly no expert and probably never get to the point of self diagnoses lol. It sounds extreme, but I really have been preparing myself for the worst possible explanation. It has been so frustrating and painful and I can't wait for the day that I'm able to find out what it is and get it taken care of. I suppose my biggest fear is not being able to make it until XXXXXXX 15th due to my symptoms getting worse. I should note that I have lost a significant amount of weight because I had to adjust my diet to minimize pain. I'm praying that it is a gallbladder issue and that something will be found during this ultrasound so that it can be taken care of.
Anyhow, I thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I am so worried about my condition however I am trying my hardest to stay positive and manage the pain to the best of my ability. Thank you so much for hearing me out and I truly hope you are safe and are having a wonderful day. Thank you for all that you do do for all of us! I am so grateful for our medical workers. You are truly all gifted. Peace and blessings go you.
Sincerely,
XXXXXXX M.

Please go through detailed answer dear.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your query dear XXXXXXX M.
Have seen your details and I appreciate your concerns my dear.
I can very well understand the agony and pain you have to bear due to this Pandemic crisis and am sorry for that.
Coming to your query very likely it not gallbladder pain.
Main reason behind the answer is that you have mentioned that during your first visit to ER they did a CT Abdomen.CT abdomen is investigation of choice to rule out gallbladder stone.
Doing an ultrasound after a normal CT does not make much sense.CT is usually 99% accurate for gallbladder issues.
I don't know why colonoscopy was done instead of Endoscopy(They should have seen your stomach and esophagus for inflammation and ulcers). I can't understand that rationale behind examing rectum and anal canal instead of stomach in patient with classical history of gastritis. However your primary doctor is the one who examines you so final call always depends on their discretion.
Have you tried the antacids this time?
Very likely your problem is either gastritis or ulcers related to stomach or duodenum.
As far as mild elevation in liver enzymes are concerned it has no clinical significance ( they should have raised at least 3 times the normal limit to be significant).
But as you can understand that giving exact diagnosis just on basis of history is not possible.
However in my opinion (As due to covid no further options are there);I would suggest you to have-
Tab Pantoprazole 40 mg twice daily(Prizolec)
Take very light food-Vegetarian if possible) A diet with 60% complex carbohydrates 20% protein and 10-20% good fats would be ideal for you.
In case you still feel pain to be on safe side I would suggest you to take Tramadol 50 mg two to three times a day( However initially try antacids).
As far as liver cancer etc is concerned your liver enzymes would have been sky rocketing by now and jaundice would be there(Severe) along with body puffiness etc.I don't think liver cancer is a possibility in your case.
Don't worry too much.
In case you can get prescription medicines at pharmacy (without prescription) more medicines could be suggested for better relief.
Hope you would feel better after taking tramadol ( Gall bladder pain classically responds to it).
Thank you,
Hope you get well soon.
Take care and feel free to ask any thing you want.
