HI - I Hurt My Shoulder - Possible Some Lifting

Question: HI - I hurt my shoulder - possible some lifting aggravated it - then I went kayaking but I put on a very restrictive top and lifting my arm up to paddler caused the injury - the pain is near that little process in the front outer side of shoulder - it is painful to lift my arm above my shoulder. I have taken antiinflamatory Tylenol - didn't see to help - also some Voltaren which perhaps helped a bit. I tried a Dr Ho electical stimulator on it. What sorts of therapy and medication do you recommend? thanks

Hi there
Thanks for the query
The lifting could have caused damage to the rotator cuff muscles of your shoulder. This causes pain over the front and outer regions of the shoulder.
Apply some warm fomentation to the region. Ibuprofen 400mg twice a day for pain relief for 5 days after meals will help.
Rest should help for now. Avoid lifting heavy objects till you are relieved. Physiotherapy after that should help in strengthening the muscles.
I hope I have answered your query.
