HI - My Doctor Prescribed Me Klonopin And I Am

Question: HI -

My doctor prescribed me klonopin and I am seven months pregnant.

Is this safe? I thought it was not but she said if i take it once in a while for anxiety its ok.

Klonopin is a pregnancy category D drug and is not considered safe for use during pregnancy on a regular basis. For anxiety, there is a definite risk to the mother and it can help in reducing anxiety if taken on occasional as and when required basis.

This drug can be taken in pregnancy only if clearly needed and the benefit outweighs the risk.

This can be taken occasionally during pregnancy under your doctor's supervision.
