Question: HI, I am a 72 year old healthy male. I recently had bloodwork done - a CBC and a comp. metab. panel. EVERYTHING was normal range. The white blood cell values were ALL normal range except that Immature Granulocytes were 2%, and Immature Grans (Abs) was 0.2 x 10E3/uL and out of normal range which is 0.0 to 0.1. Should I be concerned about this or follow up in some way?
Thank you very much.

Brief Answer:
This may be normal

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

Immature granulocytes upto 2% may be normal. Here absolute range is upto 0.1 but you have 0.2, this is just borderline in my opinion.

Unless there's any symptoms of infection, I would not worry much and do another blood count after a month or so, just to check the trend.

Hope this helps.
Regards
