It is possible to have these symptoms from magnesium depletion
Detailed Answer:
Hello, I'm Dr. Branch, thanks for using Ask a Doctor. Yes, it is possible that your symptoms could be explained by magnesium depletion, which can sometimes happen with long-term PPI use (such as with prilosec). This should be confirmed with a magnesium level, which should be able to tell you if you have magnesium depletion or not. If not, other causes of this shaking-tremor should be sought, such as other electrolyte abnormalities (such as with potassium or calcium), as well as thyroid or liver disease. If none of those turn out to be the cause, you may need to see a neurologist to have further testing done to determine the cause of these tremors.
I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any questions about any of that, and I would be glad to discuss it with you further.
