Had A C-section And Having Stomach Ache. Is This Normal?

Question: I just had a c-section on Wednesday last and have had 'dull' pains in my stomach since - like a belly ache. I'm just wondering if this is normal?

Thanks for posting your query.

Some form of minor discomfort after such surgery is normal and expected.

After any such surgery this is expected.

In the absence of any other problem I do not see any reason for worry.

Please report to your doctor in case you have any of following:

1. Increasing pain: duration and intensity
2. Vomiting or tendency to vomit
3. Pain around sutured wound
4. Fever
5. Some unusual feeling which you do not expect or comfortable with.

Presence of any of this might indicate some infection or some problem which needs medical attention.

In the absence of any of above there is nothing to be alarmed.

Please continue with medication provided and follow the instruction given by your health care provider.
