Had A Chest X-.ray And The Result Was Slight Haziness

Question: Had a chest x-.ray and the result was slight haziness in right paracardiac. And the conditon was pneumonia. I was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy two years ago and is taking regular maintenance medication for it. I just want to know if the pneumonia be bad for my heart condition? I am taking carbocisteine for my cough and is taking antibiotics for the pneumonia, feeling better but is still coughing a lot but the phlegm is coming out although it taste sour. Why is it sour and what does it mean?

Hi,

Pneumonia doesn't bear any serious complications when the condition is being treated appropriately. Improving symptoms and reduced cough is an indication that pneumonia treatment is on the right tract. So I will not be overly concerned.

The mucoid secretions from respiratory tract especially when it has been infected is probably the reason for sour taste. It is expected to improve once all the infection is cleared.
